This project began as a project in my Social Design elective course. I researched a cause I was passionate about: animal welfare and surveyed my peers to identify what informed their purchases and where there might be informational gaps.
After learning there was a lack in label literacy among my peers, I sought to design a digital guidebook for the informed shopper.
What followed was an app prototype, brand design, website prototype, and social media marketing materials. The work spanned two semesters.

Label Guide and Ranking
The primary purpose of the app is to help users better understand labels on their products. Zutu uses a color ranking system to make ethical shopping easy.
Product Scanner
By scanning a product's barcode, the zutu app provides shoppers with product label information quickly, making it the ideal in-store shopping companion.
Social Media Presence and Marketing
A series of carousel and story ads to help educate zutu's audience on social media such as instagram.
Logo Design and Branding
A clean logo with soft edges. Colors and curves with a sprout represent growth and planting seeds for a brighter future.
